One day
I want to be a doctor. My dream isn't about owning things, Walter. It's about becoming something.
One day, I'm going to own something. A business, a house-something MINE. That's what America promises!
Liuku: 3
You see that house, Biff? A man who owns a house is a man who matters. That's the American Dream!
Not at all. All that matters in this country is money. What's the point of buying a house when we don't got the money to upkeep it??
Dad...I'm not sure a house makes a man. I just want to find out who I really am.

Ruth! Wait!
Is this house for sale? My family has been saving. A house means we finally MADE it!
Or maybe it's just a building..
See? This young man understands! A house is everything, Biff!
I can't believe you Walter, I'm leaving!

If you own a house, people respect you. You are somebody!
Exactly! My father worked his whole life and never owned anything. I won't let that happen to me.
They think a house will fix everything.
I know. My dad has believed that his whole life...and he's still not happy.

Willy sits alone on the front steps of the house, looking tired and sad. The FOR SALE sign flickers in the wind.
I've been saying the right things my whole life...so why doesn't it feel like enough?

Maybe..I never stopped to ask what I really wanted. I just chased what I was supposed to want.
Walter, I think we want the house for different reasons. And that's okay.
This house is my family's chance. It means we belong here. That nobody can push us aside.
But what if the dream isn't a house? What if it's just...being honest about who you are?

But Biff helped his B see that a dream built on pretending could crumble like old wood.
The Youngers saw the house as dignity-a place where no one could tell them they didn't belong.
It's okay to start over, Dad. Even now.

But every dream begins with the courage to want something more
