Now, we are in 1000 CE, and we will learn about Avicenna's The Canon of Medicine in the Islamic Empire.
When I wrote The Canon of Medicine, I combined ideas from Greece, India, and Muslim medicine and put those ideas in one book. It became a very important text for medicine, which spread as scholars translated it.

This is Edward Jenner, in England on 1796, here to tell us about how he used cowpox to protect against smallpox.
I noticed that milkmaids who had gotten cowpox didn't get smallpox, so I decided to test this idea on a boy named James Phipps. Sure enough, he was immune. I shared this information by publishing an essay summarizing these discoveries.

I'm William Harvey, and I discovered how the heart works, and how blood circulates around the body, using Avicenna's previous knowledge of the heart.
With the Renaissance came many different discoveries for medicine.
I'm Leonardo Da Vinci. I made discoveries in anatomy, studying muscles, bones, and tendons. I also studied how the body moves with bones and muscles.
