Odysseus and his crew arrived at the cyclopic island and searched for someone to grant them with Xenia. They eventually find Polyphemous and approach with kindness but as odysseus mentions the gods polyphemous gets agitated and starts to rage, eating a few of odysseuss's men and trapping the rest including odyseeus

After Odysseus and his remaining crew were captured, Odysseus devised a plan. Beginning his plan by sharing a fake name with the cyclops (noman) as he gets him drunk off wine, waiting for him to lose consciousness so that his plan can play out successfully. After the cyclops lost consciousness, the plan came into action: Odysseus and his men started gatering suplies to leave and sharpening the cyclops club to to attack him.
