- Robert E. Lee decided that the best way to end the war was to invade the north.
- Confederate soldiers were able to fight behind cover(fencing). Union Soldiers were out in the open and slaughtered by Confederate surprise attack. In 3 hours about 8,000 people on both sides were killed.
- Union wins!!
