Chapter 7: Owen and Tyson figure out from a farmer that there must be a spy in the camp.
Chapter 8: Owen, Tyson, Lucy, and Mrs. Hubbard arrive at Mrs. Hubbard's brother's house and find out from a heel fly named Adcock that there is a spy in the thicket, and that he shot Vance Hubbard.
Chapter 9: They find out that Banty Tillotson is the spy and Red Upjohn kills him just in time, before Shattuck can get to Owen, Tyson, and Andrew and kill them.
Chapter 10: Owen spends two weeks trying to get back to his company, then finds out the war is over and decides to turn around.
Chapter 11: Owen comes back to find that Shattuck has put his father, the Hubbards, and Claude Chancellor in jail. Owen distracts Shattuck and rescues them.
Chapter 12: Phineas Shattuck dies after Owen shoots him.
