  • Fine! I accept the offer.
  • You will be a usurer in Boston.
  • Don't worry about your wife. How bout I offer you another deal?
  • The story begins with an introduction to the  characters of Tom and his wife. They are described as miserly people who are always bitter towards each other. The setting is a rural swampy area in Massachusetts set in the early 1800s.
  • Climax
  • WHERE"S MY MONEY!!!?
  • I'm sorry sir. I don't have it yet.
  • One night, Tom is taking a shortcut home and comes across the devil. The devil offers Tom the treasure of Pirate Kidd. Tom decides to discuss the deal with his wife and heads home.
  • Falling Action
  • OH NO!!
  • It's time Tom!
  • When Tom gets home, he discusses the deal with his wife. His wife immediately tells him to accept the deal. After Tom refuses, his wife sets out for the old Indian fort in search of the devil. After his wife does not return, Tom sets out to look for her and comes across the devil. The devil makes Tom another offer and he accepts the deal.
  • Resolution
  • After accepting the offer, Tom becomes very wealthy, but he starts to regret his decision and worries about his soul. Tom starts to go to church, repent, and read the bible in order to prevent himself from going to hell. One day, Tom gets a knock at his door!
  • Knock!Knock!Knock!
  • Tom goes to go check who was at the door and sees the devil standing there with a black horse behind him. The devil tells Tom it was time to pay his debt(Tom's soul).
  • Tom disappeared into the fog on the back of the black horse and was never seen again. When the people of Boston went to collect Tom's belongings. they found his money gone and his house burned dowm.
