- The king of Argos ,Acrisios, had heard of a prophecy that his grandson would kill him. He then sent his daughter ,Danae, to his prison,but Zeus had pity. Zeus turned himself into golden rain and got onto Danae. Perseus was then born.
- Supernatural Aid/Meeting with the Mentor
- King Acrisios was scared that the prophecy will come true ,so he put both Danae and Perseus into a chest. He let them both go far into the ocean where he let them both rot to death. Perseus and Danae were on the chest for days hopping to get back to land some day.
- Allies/Helpers
- Both Perseus and Danae then came across land. Later on Perseus became a young man and one day when he was suppose to give the king a gift,but Perseus gave him nothing. The king of the island,Polydectes,then told Perseus to bring him a gorgon head.
- Tests/Allies/Enemies
- Athena told Perseus to get the items he need for to defeat Medusa. She tells Perseus he must go to Hermes and the nymphs. Then she tells him that he must use the shield Hermes gave him to see Medusa's reflection ,so he doesn't turn into stone.
- The nymphs give Perseus the items he need to defeat medusa. The items were winged sandals ,hat of darkness ,and the knapsack. This was part of the items he needed ,so he went to Athena and Hermes to get the other items.
- When Perseus arrives he sees Hermes and Athena. Athena give Perseus the golden shield. While Athena gives the golden shield Hermes gives Perseus the sword that he needs to defeat Medusa with with.
