- The king agree's to let Rama go but only if his older brother Lakshmana goes with him.
- Rama, go with him on his journey.
- Rama, Come!
- The sage explains to Rama who Thataka is.
- She is a scorcher who breathes fire and wishes everything ill.
- Who is Thataka?
- Rama and Thataka start fighting each other. First he hesitates because she is a woman but then defeats her.
- The gods come down and praise Rama for killing Thataka.
- Oh, adept and master of weapons, impart without any reserve all your knowledge and powers to this lad.
