Arab-Israeli War/Establishment of Israel:1947-1949
'6 Day War' :1967
With increased Anti-Semitism rising in Europe, many Jews flee to their holy land which at the time was inhabited by Palestinians.
First Intifada: 1987-1993
In 1947, the UN forms the country, Israel to give the Jews a place to live but it covers a very large portion of Palestine. This upsets the Palestinians and results in a 2 year war in which Israel won. Israel then pushed the Palestinians out and forced them to live in refugee camps.
The Oslo Accords: 1993
In 1967, a 6 day war happened in which Israel took all remaining land in Palestine including the Gaza strip and the West Bank.
Second Intifada: 2000-2005
A 5 year protests which resulted in the deaths of many after peaceful protests turned violent. During this, an extremist group was formed to fight the Israeli government.
The Oslo Accords were formed to establish leadership roles in Palestine to rule their small area of the land. However, Israel still controls much of the area.
The Second Intifada occured when the Israeli's started building once again in Palestinian land. This uprising was more violent then the last and resulted in over 2,000 deaths in total. Much of this violence still goes on today.
