  • My mom works in corporate sustainability so the importance of sustainability and mitigating climate change was instilled in me from a young age. I applied to undergrad for environmental engineering but switched to mechanical because I thought there were more things to do with that degree.

  • I had an internship during college working for a gas turbine company doing hydrogen combustion research. I thought it was interesting so I did my senior thesis on a similar topic. I wanted to deepen my knowledge of energy systems more than I was able to in undergrad so I came to Columbia for a master's.

  • I've taken some courses geared more towards energy markets and the commercial side of energy at Columbia which have helped me appreciate the importance of the financing behind clean tech. I had an internship over the summer researching utility policy for data centers. I'd like to go into a more energy market research-type role post graduation for which I think a better understanding of finance is beneficial.
