Equality and The Golden One refuse to tell where they have been, resulting in them getting beaten in the Palace of Corrective Detention.
“We will not tell you.”
After escaping jail, Equality ran to the Forbidden Forest and hides out thinking he will die out there.
"It has been a day of wonder, this, our first day in the forest"
The Golden One escapes the society and follows a trail to Equality.
"We leapt forward, we ran to them, and we stood looking upon the Golden One."
The Golden One and Equality wander the woods for days, leaving the city further and further behind them.
"We have walked for many days. The forest has no end, and we seek no end."
After days of wandering, they find a house from the unmentionable times and decide to start a life of their own at this house.
"we stood a house such as we had never seen, and the white fire came from the sun on the glass of its windows."
