- Please Hermia, give in and don't marry this fool!
- Lysander, you shall not marry Hermia, I give her to Demetrius!
- Lord, I am just as noble as Demetrius and love her more, I deserve her.

- Hermia, I have an aunt who lives 20 miles from Athens, we can get married there where the laws of Athens won't disturb us. Meet me in a forest a few miles outside of town tomorrow night if you love me. I met you there once on May Day with Helena.
- Lysander, I swear I'll be there tomorrow, I swear by Cupid's strongest bow and his arrow that I will meet you tomorrow.

- Don't worry Helena, he will never see my face again, Lysander and I are running away from Athens. I hope you get Demetrius!
- Oh Hermia you're so lucky! Your frowns inspire love more than my smiles. Your curses inspire affection more than my prayers. And it's all your beauty's fault,. I wish I had a beauty like yours so I could be with Demetrius!
- Tomorrow night when the moon shines on the grass and water, we will turn our backs on Athens and start a new life together.
