- TOM?!
- After leaving the Plaza Hotel, Gatsby and Daisy take off in Gatsby's fancy yellow car. Daisy is the one who is driving this time, and not Tom because they had now switched cars. Driving home Daisy is very upset about the fight that had just gone on in the Hotel room between Gatsby and Tom.#160;
- Back at Wilson's garage, Myrtle is being kept upstairs above the garage in their apartment and is not allowed to leave because Wilson had found out about the affair that she had been having. Wilson did not know who it was with during the time, but knew that she was nontheless having an affair with someone else. While she is upstairs this is when she see's Gatsby and daisy driving the yellow car that she had seen Tom driving earlier.
- When she see's the yellow car, Gatsby's car, she assumes that Tom is still the one driving it. So she goes running downstairs in order to confront him, because at this point Myrtle still thinks that Tom is the one driving even tho Gatsby and Daisy were now the ones inside of the yellow car.
- Myrtle goes running out into the middle of the road, calling for Tom as Gatsby and Daisy both come speeding down the straight away. Daisy was the one who was behind the wheel, and since she was still upset about earlier with the fight at the Hotel she was not in the right state of mind, and was very emotional.
- Because of another on coming car, Daisy is not able to swerve into another lane, and since Myrtle was running at their car, she ends up being hit by Gatsby's yellow car. Instead of turning around and checking on Myrtle, Daisy keeps driving and leaves Myrtle behind on the road.
- Shortly after Daisy and Gatsby race away in his yellow car, Tom, Nick, and Daisy come along in Tom's blue coupé and come across the scene of people surrounding Myrtle, and soon Tom finds out that Myrtle was hit. Wilson is devastated, and a handful of people had seen a yellow car hit Myrtle because it was not a common car, but they had not seen who was driving it.
