FUTURISTIC SINGAPORE
Stamford Raffles, along with his general William Farquhar, came to Singapore. He thought that Singapore was strategic place to buy and sell spices. Stamford Raffles met with Sultan and the Temenggong to sign a treaty to allow them to start building a port.
The Japanese came in Singapore during World War 2. They invaded Singapore for three years. Many suffered greatly and killed during this time.
