The Adventures of Jimmy

- This is Jimmy. He is a rock that just spewed out of a volcano! Jimmy is just getting started through the stages of the Rock Cycle.
- As Jimmy fell into the ocean he weathered, or broke, apart into the deep blue sea. Jimmy was very scared. After all, it was very dark down there.
- Slowly, but surely, Jimmy started eroding away in the ocean. He could feel himself being cemented together with the layers of the Earth pressing up against him.
- After quite some time, Jimmy felt different. He looked down at himself and saw he was a Sedimentary Rock! He thought, "Wow! I'm Limestone now, cool!", said Jimmy.
- Cool!
- All of the sudden, Jimmy felt pressure forming on him from above by all the layers on top of him. He felt heat piercing him from below, the heat was heating up fast. "Stop!", he cried, "Don't ruin my astonishing looks!"
- Oh no! Not again!
- Now, Jimmy was a Metamorphic rock! Since, he was Limestone before he is now turned into Quartz. "I look even better then before!", he boasted. He couldn't believe he went through that process, the compaction was insane!
- THE END!
- Inside the volcano Jimmy started to melt from the lava or magma, then he became solid form again from the cooling and solidification of the magma or lava.
- Jimmy is now an Igneous rock again, and he is ready to start the process all over again.
