- Sythe Farady picked Citra and Rowan to be his new apprentices. He trained Citra and Rowen to be a scythe, after their training they would have to compete against each other for sychtehood. The loser had to go back and live a normal life with their families. A relationship was starting to appear between them but that was strictly forbidden.
- Climax
- When the spring conclave arrived, Rowan and Citra had to take their first test. As they were friends, they both wanted the other one to win, so they both failed their test to help each other out. But when Scythe Goddard found out that they were helping each other out and that Scythe Farady had 2 apprentices (which happened very seldomly) he said that the winner in the winter conclave had to glean (how Scythes kill) the loser. Sycthe Farady hated that idea so much, that he then killed himself so that Citra and Rowan weren't apprentices anymore and they could go back to their families.
- Falling Action
- Instead of going home, they get new teachers. Rowan gets Scythe Goddard, and Citra gets Scythe Currie. While the teachers are teaching their apprentices, Citra comes to the conclusion that someone must have killed Scythe Farady. So she starts to do some research...
- Resolution
- At the summer conclave, Rowan and Citra have to fight for their test. Rowan breaks Citra's neck so that he gets disqualified and Citra wins the fight. The Scythedom starts to think that Citra was the one who killed Scythe Farady, but then Citra finds out that Scythe Farady is actually alive and is living in the Amazons. Citra decides to pay him a visit.
- Rowan, Scythe Goddard and his other friends went to Rowans first mass gleaning. Rowan was so mad at Scythe Goddard for the inhumane way that he gleans the people that he killed Scythe Goddard and his friends with fire.
- In the winter conclave, Citra is the winner and she now has to glean Rowan. But before that, she has to give herself a new Scythe name, she decides to name herself Scythe Anastasia. Citra decides to kill Rowan with a bowie knofe, but before she kills him, she punches Rowan in the face. The blood with Rowan's DNA lands on the Scythe ring, granting him immunity. Rowan then escapes and was known as Scythe Lucifer, the killer of Scythes that he believed killed in a inhumane way.
