Ashoka built the greatest empire India had ever seen.
No more violence!!
Ashoka led his army south into Kalinga to force them to be under rule of Ashoka. He won a bloody war and over 100,000 people died.
You will meditate and be in peace when you do!
When you start supporting Buddhism there won't be anymore violence!
Ashoka felt very sorrowful about the war. He was thinking and decided to change his beliefs to Buddhism.
Ashoka made Buddhism the religion for the Mauryan Empire. He banned the killing of all animals and made new laws revolving around Buddhism.
Ashoka sent missionaries on trade routes to the far-east to share knowledge about Buddhism.
Ashoka died at age 72. When he did die India started to divide and it took 600 years for them to become united again.
