  • Boston Tea Party 1773
  • NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!
  • The Intolerable Acts 1774
  • These actions are simply horrendous! We will shut down the Boston Harbor and tax them more to keep their mouths shut which I'm sure will not have an opposite effect!
  • The Boston Tea Party occurred in 1773 at the Boston Harbor. The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans, threw the equivalent of 3 million dollars worth of tea into the Harbor. This was in protest of the Tea Act which taxed the Colonists not very severely, but it was the idea of taxation without representation that made them upset.
  • Displeased and angry with the colonies for throwing a LOT of tea away, England passed the Intolerable Acts, or the Coercive Acts which shut down the Boston Harbor, one of the most important harbors and taxed other items. The colonies could not tolerate the Coercive Acts so they nicknamed them the Intolerable Acts.
