- Esteban, with little money, went to visit Rosa's family in order for them to be engaged.
- After becoming her fiancé he leaves to go to the mine with hopes of becoming wealthy enough to support a family.
- Weeks past and Rosa's father was nominated to be a candidate in an election. In honor of that he was sent a pig and a drink.
- A couple days later Rosa's youngest sister Clara, a clairvoyant, reveals that there will soon be a death in their family.
- Days pass and Rosa gets the flu. Following doctors orders, they give her lemon juice with some of the liquor they received in order for her to feel better and have no trouble going to sleep.
- In the morning they found out that Rosa is dead and the doctor suspects that someeone poisoned thee eliquor. To confirm his theory, he performs and autopsy.
