Once upon a time, a prince and his mother, the Queen, lived in a large and beautiful castle.
Even though the prince had many nice things, he felt lonely. He wanted to get married.

One rainy day, a young woman showed up to the castle.

First I must perform a test to see if she is a real princess.

That night, the queen placed a single pea under the stack of mattresses that the young woman would sleep on.
This is so uncomfortable!
The young woman tossed and turned all night.
The next day. . .
How did you sleep last night?
I slept terribly! I was so uncomfortable, I barely slept at all.
I knew it! Only a real princess would notice something as small as a pea under all those mattresses.
And so the young woman and the prince were able to fall in love and get married.
They ruled the kingdom together and lived happily ever after.
