Me: My sister goes to SUNY, she really likes it and it's cheaper than private schools, but I would like to apply to other school to see where I get in.
Friend 1: Where are you guys applying to?
yes, it would be fun to go to school together!
I need to look at schools, talk with my parents and guidance conselor
Friend 2: My grades are really good so I am going to apply to several colleges, but don't want to go farther than 4 hours away and I would like to go with someone I know.

Me: Mom Dad, I would like to visit a couple of schools. I met with my advisor and my grades are decent and he thinks i have a few options, so plan to apply to my top five schools.
Mom: Erin college is important, but it's not all about the social aspect.
Me: I know, mom! I think i want to be in pre-law but I'm not certain.
Dad: Ok, Erin. But have you thought of what you want to study in college? If you go to SUNY, we will be able to help pay for the bulk of your studies.
