- The four prisoners chipped at the walls for months until they made a hole big enough to crawl through. They were able to create a secret workshop.
- The prisoners then took up a hobby of painting, so it wouldn't be suspicious when they ordered art supplies to make fake heads and walls to cover up the holes in their cells.
- On the night of the escape, the prisoners tucked their hand dummy heads under their blankets. It looked real.
