- Welcome to Australia. "The land down under" It is called this because it lies in the Southern Hemisphere. Australia is the flattest country and the least densely populated continent. Coming at 23 million people. A cool facts is that Australia is home to many venomous snakes.

- The British colonized Australia. They landed in Australia in 1770 and said it was British territory. The colonization started in 1788. A fleet of 11 ships that contained 736 criminals. British troops and a governor set up the first colony in New South Wales.
- The way indigenous people lived was very different o how we live now. THey lived in small areas and were in small communities and survived by hunting their food. The men would hunt large animals used for food and the women and children would get fruit, blants, and berries. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities only used the land for things that they need. (water, food, and weapons.) They never overused their stuff or damage it. European settlement had a big and devastating impact on the indigenous people. Their dispossession of the land, and more violence caused new diseases and people to die. The little percent of the Aboriginal people who didn't die, were not unaffected. The impact of the white settlers changed their lives, and lives of many generations.
- Australia has many different climate areas. The north part of Australia has a tropical climate, hot summers and dry winters. The south part of Australia is cool with mild summers and rainy winters. Australia has mountains in the south. Most of Australians live in the eastern mainland states. .
- In Australia, christianity is the most dominant religion. But the country is dievere and you won't really see a huge religion influence as you could in other places. Only 25% of Australians identify as belonging to a religion. In Australia English is the most spoken language, many people speak other languages too with their families and communities.
- Australia has many wonders. It is a place with forests, mountains, deserts, beaches, and much more! A famous feature is Uluru. Uluru is a massive sand rock that is one of Australia's most known geographical feature. Uluru is located in the southern part of Australia. Some famous animals that can be found are koalas, kangaroos, and wombats. Australia is also famous for its large alligators and many deadly snakes. Australia also has many spiders. Big spiders.
