Oh, hi Andrea. Did I do something wrong? I felt a responsibility to ensure factual accuracy because we have so few oral histories in our archives about the Civil Rights Movement - especially from the Jewish community. I wanted to ensure everything said was as accurate as possible.

Justin, reflection is helpful, but reflexivity asks you to look at how your background, beliefs and biases shape who you are and how you relate to others. It's an ongoing process. Can you tell me how you think your identity and role affected the way you interacted with Mr. Cohen?
Well, I realize that my desire for factual precision came from my training as an archivist and my awareness of gaps in the historical record. In trying to protect the accuracy of the narrative, I may have unintentionally imposed my own priorities on the narrator. There's clearly more growth ahead for me.
