- Sounds perfect. For twenty - four hours?
- Tomorrow. Lets do it tomorrrow night.
- Hi Jo!
- Josie is told by her mom to take a very old mirror upstairs. After that, has dreams every night at 3:59 AM. They are of herself, or is it her? The girl looks just like her but has the life Josie wants. She then awakes one night at 3:59 AM and sees a reflection of her room. But... it is different from her own room.
- Th-thank you. You... saved my life.
- What were you thinking walking home at dusk? And the path through the woods? You were practically asking for the Nox to attack.
- It's a different girl in the mirror but with a different life. Later, Josie and Jo agree to switch place for the day. Josie is convinced that Jo's world is perfect, and is excited to live in this life just for one day. Her motivation to go through the mirror was that Nick, her boyfriend, had cheated on her with Josie's best friend Madison.
- Tomorrow. Let's do it tomorrow night.
- That morning this world seems perfect - everyone noticed her and smiled, making sure to say hi. Jo is enjoying this, but realized something seemed off about them. Even her other best friend, Penelope, looked... afraid of her. And when she tried to run to her boyfriend, she quickly found out that he hates her.
- You can take the girl out of the universe but you cant take the universe out of the girl
- Josie walks home and gets attacked by these monsters. Nox are the monsters in this world - leathery wings, talons that rip though flesh, and a sharp beak. They are also invisible which makes them that more dangerous. Nick saves her just in time and drives her home. She tries later that night to open up the portal but realized Jo has trapped her! The mirror is shoved up against the wall and cannot be moved.
- Nick suspects that Josie is in fact not Jo, and is suspicious. She has no choice but to attempt to explain her situation to Nick. Together, they meet with others including Madison, and the twins (Zac Zee) from school. They work together to find the ugly secrets that lie in this world, and devise a plan to close the portal and get Josie home.
- The secrets are revealed little by litte through investigation. The people in power (such as Jo) are using the Nox
