- Piaget's Theory -conquer 4 stages of cognitive development to reach full human intelligence. First Stage is Sensori Motor Stage which consists of:Substage 1- First month of Life – Newborn ReflexesSubstage 2 - 1-4 months –Simple motor habits centered around own body
- Substage 3- 4-8 months-Repeat interesting effects in sounding Substage 4 - 8-12 months- intentional, goal-directed behavior,object permanenceSubstage 5 - 12- 18 months- explore properties of objects through novel actionsSubstage 6 - 18 months – 2 years- internal depictions of object or events; deferred imitation.

- Brush my mouth or cheek with your finger and I will suck reflectively.
- If I kick my leg or suck my thumb, I do it intentionally for the pleasurable stimulation I get.
