- The ideaDuring the covid-19 pandemic subway ridership is down 94%. This means it would be an ideal time to covert the dated and dirty Nyc subway into a high speed maglev. This train can reach speeds up to 143mph is very environmentally friendly. This is good as will create a less polluted city and lower travel times. It will also update the dirty rat filled subway. Another reason is their about 68 deaths per year on the subway. In Shanghai over 9 billion people have been transported and their have been zero deaths.
