Rise and Fall of King Saul

- Father father I want to be king one day!
- Ah Saul, you're a funny bloke.
- Give us a human!!
- Well Saul, I guess you're king now. Have fun.
- No way man!
- Saul was born in around 1050 BCE. He grew up with his father Kish, and lived within the small tribe of Benjamin, located between the most powerful tribes. Saul worked as a farmer in his father's fields, but wasn't very well known.
- If you work hard I'll give you a feast tonight!
- COME ON BOYS
- Later on in time, the people of Israel, the Israelites, consulted with the leading prophet Samuel and told him that they wanted a human king to be their ruler. So Samuel spoke to Yahweh in order for approval, and he accepted.
- Omg omg I love me too!
- Samuel found Saul and gave him the good news. He was thrilled and excited for the responsibilities ahead. Samuel also told Saul about the covenant Yahweh wanted to be made, the main rule being to always be obedient.
- Where are you guys going I thought you loved me...
- King Saul's greatest achievement was establishing the military and battling against the Philistines. He led the Israelites to have many victories, which gave him a good reputation.
- King Saul became very well liked and popular to the Israelites, everyone was grateful for the things he did. King Saul loved the attention he got from his people and being in the limelight often, so much so that he started being full of himself.
- King Saul became selfish and didn't value what his people wanted for their nation. The Israelites quickly turned on him after realising he was dishonest and never owned up after making mistakes.
