Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton met at the World Anti-Slavery Convention in London during 1840. They sparked a bond because they wanted to speak out against slavery, but were forced to sit on a balcony behind a curtain, concealed from speaking.

These 4 women then met at a Seneca Falls convention, in addition to others, including Frederick Douglass.
This powerful and talented group of leaders then drafted a Declaration of Sentiments, based on the Declaration of Independence.
This powerful campaign led to New York giving women the right to control wages and own property, and Indiana and Massachusetts passed Liberal Divorce Laws.
