- Mountains make up about one-fifth of the world's landscape, and provide homes to at least one-tenth of the world's people.

- Our oceans cover 70 percent of the Earth's surface.
- Landforms are a natural feature of the Earth's surface. Examples of landforms are mountains, valleys, lowlands and volcanoes.

- A section of the earth surface which is made up of natural or man-made geographical features. E.g deserts, coasts and rainforests.
- A specific place on earth and all the living and non-living elements are there.
- Processes within the mantle which build up the various features on the Earth's crust.
