- Pony boy Curtis is the one telling the story and he has many brothers and his parents died. They live in a small town in Oklahoma. This is during the Paul Newman era in the 1960's

- Ponyboy gets jumped by socs and the lots of tension from the both the gangs Greasers help Ponyboy.

- Ponyboy and Johnny meet cherry and her friends At a drive in. They were soc girls and he learned aliittle bit how both gangs are connected. When Two bit left pony and johnny get jumped by socs one was named bob and johnny killed bob in self defence to save pony. Now there in trouble with to head socs and the police. Later in the book pony and Johnny come to church to see it on fire. Now they have to save some kids from the fire witch they do but get really hurt.
- Resolution
- After the rumble Johnny dies and Darry cant handle it so he robs a story and points a unloaded gun at the police and get shot and dies.
- Ponyboy is over whelmed with the loss of his firends in his life. later on he gets a visit from Randy they talk about the court case.
- Ponyboy stays with his brothers and the judge said it was self defense so they were set free with no charges.
