- Marcel and Charlotte Lecointe who had sheltered Johnny before his transit to the coast are seen above. Johnny is on the right.
- After being shot down, Johnny Checketts arrived in the company of the French as they tended to his wounds and sheltered johnny from the Germans.Johnny didn't speak french, but he new that plans for his escape were being constructed by the resistance.
- They know I can't stay here forever, I'll be discovered. They must be making a plan.
- A band of allied airmen in the hands of the resistance.
- Johnny had travelled to Paris with his new attire to rendezvous with fellow allied airmen under the ressistances orders. They shared what remained of their food and discussed the circumstances that had landed them deep in German territory.Many near misses with the Germans had led Johnny and his newly forged identity papers to catch a train to Brest where he would make his escape.
- Tonight, we feast, tommorrow, we make our long awaited escape.
- Johnny makes his escape back to Britain.
- Johnny would sail off to England with a smaller group of airmen. They were almost discovered, but the supposed fishing boat was inconspicuous enough to fool the German harbour guards.
