- The young student spent time studying at Gottingen a German college and spends most time in solitude.

- The young student is tortured with ideas of evil spirits and deities.

- The young student's friends send him to Paris to introduce him to the world, however he arrives in the height of the French revolution.

- One day getting back from the library, the student encountered the guillotine at night.

- The police tells the student that the woman was guillotined yesterday. The man screams, convinced a spirit was controlling the body.
