- INTERNAL CONFLICT: MAN VS SELF
- 'Tybalt is dead, and Romeo--banishèd!'That 'banishèd,' that one word 'banishèd,'Hath slain ten thousand Tybalts. 
- EXTERNAL CONFLICT: MAN VS MAN
- Now, Tybalt, take the ‘villain’ back again, That late thou gavest me; for Mercutio's soul Is but a little way above our heads, Staying for thine to keep him company. Either thou or I, or both, must go with him.
- Thou wretched boy, that didst consort him here,Shalt with him hence.
- EXTERNAL CONFLICT: MAN VS SOCIETY
- I will not marry yet; and when I do, I swear It shall be Romeo whom you know I hate  Rather than Paris
- An you be not, hang, beg, starve, die in the streets, For, by my soul, I'll ne'er acknowledge thee, Nor what is mine shall never do thee good. Trust to't. Bethink you. I'll not be forsworn.
- Juliet is conflicted on whether she should be on Romeo's side or on Tybalt's side after she finds out about their fight that resulted in Tybalt's death and Romeo's exile. She feels sad because after all Tybalt was her cousin. However, Juliet ends up deciding that the fact Romeo is being exiled is so much worse than his death; furthermore, since she is Romeo's wife, she realizes she must stand by him and always support him.
- As revenge for leaving Romeo alone at the Capulet party, Tybalt challenges him to a dual. Mercutio takes Romeo's place in fighting Tybalt resulting in his death, Angry over the death of his friend, Romeo fights Tybalt and kills him. This conflict fueled the existing rivalry between the Montagues and the Capulets.
- Although Juliet knows that she should agree to marry Paris, she doesn't because she loves and is already married to Romeo. However, in rejecting the proposal she is going against her family's beliefs which are the same as the beliefs in society. Her father and mother are both so angry that her father even threatens to disown her if she does not go through with the wedding.
