  • "BOOM!" While Salva was in class they heard a loud "BOOM!" and it kept on repeating. The teacher told everyone to go to the bush and hide.
  • Salva:
  • Salva knew he was would not be safe at the bush forever so he ran as fast as he could to start the long journey to a new home.
  • Salva:
  • "Salva Dut Mawien Ariik?" Asked a familiar voice. Salva looked around and saw: HIS UNCLE. At least he had family left.
  • Salva:
  • Suddenly these people from the Nuer tribe came and yelled for everyone to get down. They took all the stuff and took the gun and killed Uncle. They tied him to a tree first.
  • Salva and his group kept on walking until they got to the refugee camp and he stayed there for 6-7 years
  • In short, Salva was allowed to go to America and live with a family. He found out his father was alive and he visited him at the hospital. He also helped build a well for the people in Sudan as well.
