- Hugo cabret lived with his father who had made clocks for a long time and he worked with him in the train station keeping up for the clocks.
- Climax 
- Hugos father finds the automaton and he knows that it will be able to write a secret message and he wants to fix it.While working on it in the train station and the station caught on fire while he was trapped in his office and he died.And Hugo is forced to end up working for his uncle who is a drunk still fixing clocks up until his uncle disappeared so Hugo worked on the clocks all by himself.
- Falling action
- Hugo was caught stealing from the toy store in the train station and the man took his notebook and said he was going to burn it.The mans god daughter becomes friends with him and gets the notebook back and he is able to fix the automaton which was actually the toy store owners from when he was a movie maker and he wants it back.
- Resolution 
- While Hugo was getting the automation to bring to the toy man because he wanted to see it again and while he was there he went to the cafe to steal a bottle of milk and he got caught and the station inspector  followed him to where he was leaving and got the cops to get him because they thought that he had something to do with his uncle disappearing but the toy man came and told him that he had nothing to do with it and that he didn't do anything so Hugo didn't get arrested.
- Hugo and some of his friends who were fans of the toy man when he made movies and they dedicated a lot of their time to get together  some of his old movies and have people come watch them for one last time and they celebrated him.
- Hugo ended up making his own automation and he wrote and drew an entire book and called the book the invention of Hugo Carbet and also became a magician.
