- The bride and groom enter the cafe followed by the guests, from the wedding of the bullfighter Paquirrin.When the coffee is left alone, Elena arrives, looking to talk to Rafael and clear up the rumors of her romance with Maravillas. Maravillas arrives through one of the dependencies and both recognize each other.
- In the prision
- The wedding party is about to leave again when a great uproar breaks out in the street. Enter, badly wounded, Rafael Sanabria, who is attended by Elena before Maravillas' helplessness. Luis Candelas, the famous thief, arrives, brandishing a rifle and looking for volunteers to fight for freedom. Maravillas takes a flag from one of the henchmen and marches with the others towards the street to fight for freedom.
- The plan
- The police officers enter, looking for the suspects.
- Scape
- Rafael is being held in the court prison, awaiting his death sentence. Gangarilla has gone undercover as a guard, to help him escape from prison.
- Maravillas and Gangarilla arrive dressed as peasants, willing to collaborate in the plan and distract the guards.
- They manage to escape and all the comedians fire them, while Maravillas cries inconsolably at Rafael's departure. The play concludes with Luis Candelas tenderly saying goodbye to Maravillas as he is taken away by the police.
