- Im here to petition you law about all people in the government having to wear powdered wigs
- The Magne Carte made it so that the King had less power and wasn't above the law. It gave landowning men the chance to be in the government and give more power to the people.
- New England Colony Education
- The Parliament allowed the English people to approve laws and taxes which gave the King a lot less power. This led to the The Great Revolution which happened after a king tried to ignore the Parliament.
- Middle Colony Education
- And now turn to page 165 of your religous math books
- The English Bill of Rights allowed people to petition the king which means you can ask him to change a law. They also gained the right to a trial by jury which improve their justice system.
- Southern Colony Education
- Are you ready to learn in the great country of England?
- New England was the only Region that Required public school for the children. They passed a law that meant towns would have to hire a teacher or build a school if it was a bigger city. The puritans backed the public schools because they wanted kids to read and write about the bible.
- I wonder what we will learn today
- In the middle colonies, the diversity in religion stopped public education so they built church schools and hired tutors for their children. The center of school was the bible because of how religious they were.
- Since there weren't any big cities in the South they didn't build any public schools, so the families would save money to hire teachers to come to their house and teach their children. Wealthier families would send their kids to England in order to get an education.
