Climax
Lizabeth wakes up late at night from the sounds of of her parents voices. Her father has been unable to find work and support his family. For the first time he despairs, and for the first time the narrator hears her father cry.
Falling Action
Lizabeth plans to destrot Mrs. Lotties flowers because her father was crying yesterday and she thinks her life is so hopeless. She plans this the day before a disasterwhile crying because her life is pointless and her dad was also sad.
Resolution
WHAT WAS I THINKING
Out of shock and rage, Lizabeth sneaks over to Miss Lottie's house, ignoring her brother's protests.She goes to the garden to destroy all the marigolds in frustration and tears.
Lizabeth regrest her out rageous decisioniss Miss Lottie stares at the pulled marigolds with no emotion. Miss Lottie never replants the marigolds.
WHY DID I DO THAT!!!!(CRYING)
Lizabeth, who is now an adult, looks back on her childish actions with regret and says that their encounter was the end of her innocence and childhood.
