Act 3
Three suitors want to court Bianca, but Baptista declares that Kate (the eldest) must marry first before Bianca can marry. Hortensio Lucentio convince Petruchio to marry the devil, Katherine, because of her large dowry.Hortensio and Lucentio disguise as Bianca's tutors as an attempt to captivate her heart in secret.
Katherine violently binds Bianca to a chair urges her to confess which suitor she prefers, but Baptista halts the argument. The group of suitors comes by to present themselves to Baptista. Petruchio introduces himself meets his Kate presents the tutors books as a gift. When he meets his Kate, they exchange insults, he declares that he will marry her. In the meantime, the tutors try to woo Bianca.
The tutors continue to compete over Bianca, she is upset that they only view her as a prize, she does not trust them. On Petruchio's Katherine's wedding day, Petruchio is nowhere to be seen Katherine is upset that she is left alone on the altar.
