- After years and years of gymnastics training, Britney has started to notice that she is having problems with more and more muscles as time goes on.
- Coach, I don't know what it is but I have been having problems with my back. I think I've torn something.
- Exposition
- After a long day of school and training, Britney decides that it would be in her best interest to go see a doctor to find out what the problem is.
- Okay okay I see. Well we will get some x rays and see what we're dealing with and go from there.
- I've had more and more issues with my back. I have had lots of pain but my coach has told me I'll be fine. I'm not sure.
- Conflict
- A week later, after finishing up her homework, she gets a call from the doctor with her results.
- Hello Britney, we have gone back to look over the results of the x rays. If you can, we would like you to come in tomorrow morning to talk.
- Rising Action
- After nervously waiting for the doctor, Britney receives news that she never thought she would hear. The doctor has told her that it is best if she takes the rest of the season off.
- Hello Britney. After carefully reviewing your x rays, we have noticed that you have a slight fracture. After speaking with other specialists, we have decided it is in your best interest to take the rest of this season off.
- Climax

- Arriving to the gym, Britney has told her coach the news and that she will not be continuing to compete for the rest of the season.
- Britney I am so sorry to hear that. As much as would love for you to compete, you need to give yourself time to heal. You'll be back and better in no time.
- So, I have gone to the doctor and have had x rays. They said that I have a slight fracture and that it is best if don't continue for the rest of the season.
- Sitting her room wondering how this could be, Britney has accepted it and has realized that she has to do what is best for her body. She will be back in the gym in no time!
