hello my name is water droplet, and I am going to tell you how I get transported in the water cycle.
first i am a solid iceberg and I need heat to melt. I absorb the energy from the heat and start to vibrate. and the molecules in the ice don't want to stay still anymore so it melts.
wow its getting hot in here! the water is evaporating turning into water vapor. because the water molecules vibrate so fast that they escapes and become water vapor in the atmosphere.
Clouds are created when water vapor in the air condenses into visible water droplets and ice crystals. because the atmosphere is unable to hold all the water vapour it condenses them together. this is called condensation.
wow its raining so much! this is called precipitation and it occurs because when the water droplets are heavy enough they fall, if the cloud is more cold(depending on the altitude) then the water droplets would become ice. Precipitation is water let go from a cloud/clouds in the form of rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, or hail.
the ground is getting soaked, this is called infiltration! Infiltrationhappens when water soaks into the soil from the ground. this then used for plant so they can grow and then then release the water as waste in the plants pours/transpiration.
