- um okay Corona Virus huh, oh man this is terrifying i mean I already have a chronic disease, TB nearly killed me fast forward 2020 there is a new respiratory virus known as Corona Virus. Man we got to start appreciating the process of breathing and breath. Ventilation, masks and social distance are surely going to get me through the pandemic I BETTER comply with the regulations made by the government, regarding Corona Virus.
- Meet Mr. Thato Moatlhodi, the hardworking proud Tswana man who works in the farms, he has a family of two children two daughters namely Tlotlego and Lesego and lastly their mother recently died of cancer. Mr. Moatlhodi was recently diagnosed with TB prior the pandemic, meaning his immune system was compromised due to his illness. He has since became more critical during the pandemic regarding breathing and breath as a whole.
- we humans, we have a tendency to lack appreciation for something unless we lose it. Living during the pandemic has taught me something regarding breath and breathing, the essence of life that is. I mean these days we wear masks, kissing and hugging a stranger is taboo, people lose jobs due to lock down restrictions our whole livelihoods has become a huge hassle. This is our new normal.
- During the pandemic most people died due to corona virus, for example in India more than 500000 people succumbed to the virus according to Arundhati Roy " Pandemic as a portal".( Arundhati, pandemic as a portal,2013). People had to wear masks which in turn made it difficult for masses to breath, hence they had to be conscious and aware of what they are breathing in and out.
- National state of disaster has just been withdrawn, the best news ever. This that we will not wear masks outdoor, but in shops, malls, we are still urged to wear masks. Breathing for me is no longer a hassle. It was for me due to my condition hence I had to take medicine for TB plus immune boosters for my compromised lungs.
