Hello! We are Linda and Kathy and we are part of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.! Our Historically Black Sorority was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University in Washington D.C.

The founders of Delta Sigma Theta were originally members of the AKA, but the founders felt the need to more directly address social and political issues of the time, particularly issues that affected Black women.
Well said , Linda! Our goal is to address pressing social issues and advocate for equality and justice! We participated in the Women' suffrage March in D.C. 3/3/1913, just two months after our founding. DST has also funded the construction of a hospital in Thika, Kenya, to provide heath care to underserved populations.

Our mission today is to provide assistance and support through programs in local communities throughout the world to promote scholarship, foster sisterhood, and engage in public service.
We focus our efforts through the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational development, International Awareness and involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
