Rosalind Franklin has always had a passion and knowledge for science. This led her to study the porosity of coal and earn her PhD.

Once Rosalind got her Phd she was offered a job as a x-ray crystallographer which is a scientist that uses a technique called x-ray diffraction to create 3d images of molecules. She later went to kings college to join a fellowship and she was in charge of the lab of the DNA structure. Another researcher, Maurice Wilkins, who was also a part of the study, got intimidated by the fact that a woman had more power than him.

Another scientist James Watson came to her lab trying to persuade Rosalind to help him with his DNA research by suggesting that she needed his help. She got offended and said no. Watson and Wilkins met and both decided that they did not like Rosalind. Wilkins shared her images to Watson and they both figured out the structure of DNA.
