- Conflict
- It is a relatively normal day in Maple Street. Everyone is tending to their own business, and kids are playing with each other. The residents of Maple Street are just having a good day.
- Climax
- A giant flash of light appears to come out of the sky, and all of the electricity goes out. A boy named Tommy explains how aliens may be the cause of this, since he read it in stories before. Although nobody seems to believe him. The citizens decide to investigate further.
- Falling Action
- While the townsfolk are discussing whether this is all witchcraft or not, a man named Les Goodman tries to start his car. Everyone comes over to see if it will work, yet it doesn't. Then, when Goodman walks away, it turns on all by itself. The group, that is now becoming a mob, start to accuse him of being responsible of this mess.
- Resolution
- The fear and paranoia grow among the citizens. More people also get accused of abnormal behavior and people are starting to arm themselves with weapons just in case any more paranormal activity occurs. However, one man named Pete Van Horn was mistaken for an alien when walking to town, and sadly lost his life.
- Everyone starts to make accusations of each other and it seems that it is every man for themselves at this point. Random lights of random houses flicker, but everyone is too busy bickering. Mayhem is upon the citizens.
- It is revealed that two unknown figures are responsible for the power outage. They have been watching over the town and have been watching the townsfolk tear themselves apart. The two realize that humans will eventually destroy each other if left alone, and we are our own enemies.
