  • William of Orange is encouraged to take the throne by parliament and to do so by force and by marrying Mary who is James II daughter. James II flees to France because he doesn't have support from England despite being king
  • James and Mary of Orange both accept the throne and abolish the theory of the Divine right of kings and they rule equally with parliament and create a bill of rights
