- Christopher woke up in a flash. He had sweat dripping down his neck. Christopher had a nightmare, a horrible nightmare. He dreamt that he was in a room with a tiny light, and there was a kid in a mask, just standing there in the room, beside an animatronic fox. The kid looked like he was dead. Also in the room there was a man. The man looked much older than the kid. The man is in a dirty security guard suit and his smile, when he smiled, showed a mouth full of pointy teeth. It was gruesome. His skin looked kind of purple but it was hard to tell in the light.
- It's the morning and Christopher gets up to get the newspaper. Christopher knows the paper has been delivered because the dog was barking at the window. Christopher opens the newspaper and straight away looks at the job listings for a way to make some money. He sees an easy job that could make okay money but not the best. The job listed "Security Guard for Hire" and pays $500 a week, 6 days a week from 12 P.M. to 6 A.M at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.

- “Excuse me. Did you just lock the door?” The employee glanced at him and slowly unlocked the door, without saying a word. Inside the pizzeria Christopher walked to the security office to start work.
- Did you just lock the door?
- Inside the office there is one desk, one chair, two metal doors with windows, and a table in the middle of the room. On this table was an old tape player lying on the table so Christopher turned it on. The tape played and a man's voice explained that the job of the Security Guard was to use a tablet to watch all the different cameras in the building.
- Christopher opened the tablet and on the first camera he saw 3 animatronic animals displayed on a stage. There was a yellow bird, a big brown bear and a blue rabbit on the screen. On the second camera he also saw a sign on a closed curtain that read "Pirate Cove Out of Order.”
