19.1 .1925Yesterday was the day that I found out that I had Tuberculosis.
I’m Nine Nada. I’m a 26-year-old female that was born and raised in New Mexico. I worked my entire life in the nursing homes, helping the elderly. Ever sense my mother died, I had no one to look after me, not until I turned 16 that the nursing home took me. They are family but recently there’s this new disease called lungers. Unfortunately, someone got lungers in the nursing home but we thought it was a common cold. I was responsible for taking care of them. That’s when it shocked me. I had lungers or Tuberculosis in a manner of one day.
26.1.1925 On 19.1.1925 I was transferred to the Valmora Santorium. Ever since I got Tuberculosis, it’s been rough. I’ve been coughing none stop, and sometimes blood comes out. Valmora Santorium has a strict schedule for TB patients also known as Tuberculosis patients. We eat, bathe, exercise, rest,and repeat. The hardest part was not talking for the whole day. We weren’t tot alk at all during the whole day while we rest.
8.2.1925I have become better from the past weeks. However, I am still down in the dumps and still trying to get better. The disease has been going away on its own but it’s taking a while. They let me go but they advise me to repeat the strict schedule for at least a few more weeks until I get better and stay away from public areas to prevent the disease.
