- It is a nice day on calm Maple Street. People are talking, playing, working, and enjoying the weather. People are outside of their houses enjoying the Summer day with their neighbors and children.
- Climax
- Maple St.
- All of the sudden, there is a flash of light and the power goes out which leaves the neighbors in utter confusion. Nobody knows what happened and everyone is looking for explanations. They have no idea what to do and are seeing if anyone is going to do anything about it.
- Falling Action
- Maple St.
- Pete Van Horn goes to check if the other neighborhoods lost power. Nobody knows what happened so they resort to accusing one another of being aliens. If anybody in the neighborhood was different from other people, they were suspected of not being human.
- Resolution
- Because of all of the paranoia going on in the neighborhood, everybody is on edge because they have no idea what is going on. When Pete Van Horn comes back, Charlie thinks that he is a monster and shoots him. All of the worry in the community results in a neighbor killing another neighbor.
- Steve tries to calm everybody down and is trying to make them see how absurd they're being. Nobody is able to see what Steve is saying and they revert back to accusing each other of not being human. Everybody makes up silly reasons why their own neighbors are monsters.
- Two mysterious figures are shown on a hill next to a metal spacecraft. They are standing there and just watching the people destroy each other. The two figures are able to cause mayhem in neighborhoods by changing something for a little bit and watching as the humans destroy themselves.
